CAQH Is Now DataSpring: Does This Affect Lactation Consultants?
Categories: Credentialing, Practice Setup / By Nicole Peluso IBCLC CD CAHPE
If you logged into CAQH recently or received emails from the organization this week, you may have noticed a major branding change: CAQH has officially rebranded as DataSpring. For many lactation consultants, especially those actively working on credentialing, provider enrollment, or CAQH maintenance, the announcement created understandable confusion. Fortunately, for most providers, this appears to be primarily a company rebrand rather than a major operational change to your credentialing workflow.

What Changed in Your CAQH?
CAQH announced that its parent organization is now called DataSpring. According to the company, the new brand is intended to reflect a broader focus on healthcare data infrastructure, provider data management, and healthcare technology solutions.
You may begin seeing:
-
DataSpring attestation emails
-
DataSpring branding on communications
-
references to DataSpring in credentialing materials
Credentialing Is Not Currently Affected
At this time, most of the systems lactation consultants use every day appear to remain the same.
For most providers:
-
CAQH ID numbers remain active
-
CAQH ProView login remains active
-
existing credentialing profiles remain in place
-
payer access and authorizations remain in place
-
insurance credentialing workflows remain largely unchanged
The CAQH ProView platform and provider credentialing systems continue functioning normally during the transition.
The Future of Your DataSpring Account
There is nothing new for you to do at this time. This is a good reminder to check your re-attestation date and add it to your calendar as an ongoing quarterly review.
Many insurance payers, credentialing services, billing companies, and healthcare organizations still commonly refer to the platform as “CAQH,” even during the transition to DataSpring. Because of that, providers will likely continue hearing both names used interchangeably for some time.
As additional changes are announced, we will continue updating our credentialing resources and CAQH setup guide for lactation consultants.
